Voice of the River Event

The Voice of the River

will be at the Dunnville Airpark on

Thursday, August 21st

starting around 6:00 p.m.

The airport grounds and our museum hangar are the location for one of a series of performances of this community play project being held in various municipalities along the Grand River. The event is co-produced by the Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity and the Grandview Theatre. This is not a museum event, however, a few of our members have been volunteering with aspects of the project.

The Voice of the River celebrates stories from all along the Grand River. The events start with a bring-your-own picnic, followed by a parade incorporating giant puppets (created by local community members), stilt walkers, music, dancing and singing! The Dunnville parade will also feature antique tractors, the play/presentation will include some local stories, the South Cayuga Community Church Joyful Noise Choir and Joyful Strummers ukulele players will provide musical entertainment, and a beautiful quilt made up of squares created by local artists and inspired by the river will be on display during the event. Fun for the whole family! The events are pay-what-you-can but you can attend for free. You can make a donation for tickets here: https://www.zeffy.com/ en-CA/ticketing/the-voice-of- the-river-pay-what-you-can-can

2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the No6 Museum.

We will be joined on Monday April 8 by members of the Kitchener-Waterloo branch of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada to view the total solar eclipse.

The museum will be open for visitors.  Please come out anytime during the day to visit the museum and chat with the astronomers about the eclipse.  Eclipse totality will happen around 3:18pm.  The RASC members will be at the Dunnville Airpark for most of the day, setup outside the museum to answer questions and assist with viewing.
